2022-2023 academic year message from Turkish Teachers' Union
Western Thrace Turkish Teachers' Union (BTTÖB) has published a message for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Western Thrace Turkish Teachers' Union (BTTÖB) message is as follow:
"Dear Students,
Leaving another summer vacation behind, you are starting a new academic year. We hope for an education year without the pandemic that has been making education and learning difficult for a long time, and we wish the 2022-2023 academic year to be the best for you.
You are our future, you are our hope. The continuation of our culture and the ability of our minority to reach a brighter and more modern future depend on the good education you will receive and the hard work you will do.
In order to be successful, you have to learn both Turkish, your mother tongue, and Greek, the official language of our country, very well.
Having command of both these languages will open many horizons for you and will bring you success in every field.
You should prepare yourself better as a member of our developing world. We want you to know that we will always be proud and happy with your success. We want you to know that we are always with you and your supporter for a happier and better tomorrow. Dear students, we wish you a successful year.
Dear Teachers,
You are welcoming a new academic year. We entrust our precious children, who are our future, to you, our esteemed colleagues.
We sincerely believe that you will strive for the education of our children with patience, perseverance, love and compassion.
We expect you to increase the level and quality of the education you give to our children, and to raise knowledgeable contemporary generations who are loyal to our history, culture, national and moral values. We want you to know that we will always be there for you when you need it. We wish you, our esteemed colleagues, a very successful academic year.
Dear Parents,
We believe that you and your children will make great efforts throughout a new academic year. You will rejoice in their joy and be sad in their sorrow.
We want you to know that your support is very important and very effective in the education of your children. It is possible for them to accept and love the school and the teacher, with your support. Again, we wholeheartedly believe that you will not spare the same support for our children to love books and reading.
The child's general education in an environment where his/her own culture is lived and shared, provides personality development based on strong psychological and social foundations, and develops self-confidence in a positive way. In addition, it is of great importance that we send your children to minority schools for the survival of minority education and our minority.
You should never forget that you are the owner of our schools, the parents, and that you have the right to control our schools and the quality of education in our schools through the councilors you elected.
In recent years, our schools have been closed one by one, on the pretext of lack of children, without taking into account the education rights of the minority arising from the treaties, and without any consultation with the members of the minority.
This year, we lost four of our schools. We have to act consciously in order to stop the closure of minority schools. We would like to underline once again that our primary goal is to raise generations that are loyal to our history, culture, national and moral values, and that this will only be possible with minority schools.
We have to think carefully about this and make the right decisions. Because we have to calculate that this decision will affect our child's whole life. With these feelings and thoughts, we wish you, the parents, a good and successful academic year with your children.
In addition, we congratulate all our students who are entitled to go to university this year.
It is our greatest desire that you young people, who are our hope and future, have a successful education life. The way to be beneficial to yourself, your family and your minority is to work hard. We fully believe that you will act with this awareness. We sincerely wish you success.
Regards…
