YTB President Abdullah Eren meets with kinsmen in France
Abdullah Eren, President of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), who came together with Turkish citizens and NGO representatives living in France, said: "Our state is in a serious work for our citizens abroad with all its institutions. We are carrying out many projects for our citizens abroad."
YTB President Abdullah Eren and the accompanying delegation made contacts in Strasbourg, France, where they went to participate in the Culture Expo organised with the support of YTB.
Eren, who met with Turkish citizens and NGO representatives in France, both answered the questions of the citizens and evaluated the cooperation opportunities.
Eren and the accompanying delegation first visited Sarp Erzi, Consul General of Turkey in Strasbourg and then attended the Culture Expo organised in France.
Expressing his happiness for their participation in the Culture Expo, Eren said, "We will continue to promote and support the works of art produced by our Diaspora. The deeper our roots go, the stronger our branches are, the more resistant our trunk is to storms."
Eren stated that they introduced the 10th issue of Telve, the Turkish Language, Thought and Literature Magazine, which is the labour and sweat of Turkish youth abroad, at the Culture Expo in Strasbourg with its young writers.
He stated that Telve, which sheds light on 20th century European literature with its new issue, is waiting for its readers with its rich content.
Eren finally came together with citizens and NGO representatives in France. Stating that they closely follow the problems of citizens abroad and carry out studies to solve them, President Eren stated the following: "Our citizens abroad; We are both closely aware of the issues related to retirement, military service, automatic information sharing, bringing a car, telephone, tax and ticket transactions, and we follow up on the solution."
Our Citizens Abroad Continue to Contribute to the State
Stating that Turkish citizens abroad have contributed to the state for many years and continue to contribute today, Abdullah Eren said, "Our state is in a serious work for our citizens abroad with all its institutions. We are carrying out many projects for our citizens abroad. We have a very close cooperation with our relevant public institutions, especially regarding the legal and legislative side of legal and administrative regulations."
Explaining that Turkish citizens abroad now have a say in many different fields within the society they live in and continue their work, Eren said, "Next year will mark the 60th anniversary of the labour agreement we signed with France. Time passes, societies and the conditions we live in are changing. As of now, we can only talk about the Turkish diaspora, the European Turkish presence, which is close to one million in France and over five million in the whole of Europe. While our first generation came here as workers within the framework of an agreement, today we see that we have people from every profession, every socio-economic, socio-cultural group in our fourth and fifth generation."
