Pazarkule Border Gate getting ready to welcome its passengers

Türkiye's modernization works at Edirne Pazarkule Border Gate, which opened to Greece, have come to an end.

The number of single platforms at the border gate, whose modernization works are continuing, has been increased to 6, with 3 entrances and 3 exits.
The usage area of the customs area, which was 4 thousand square meters, was expanded to 22 thousand square meters.

In Pazarkule, which has gained a modern appearance after the renovation works, there are also search hangar, social equipment, and personnel buildings.

There are administrative units in the passenger building and shopping stores on the ground floor. At the border gate, there is also an x-ray office, mobile x-ray and dog training center, and the building where the Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate is located. The border gate is expected to welcome passengers with its new face in March at the latest.

Edirne Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Sezai Irmak stated that the border gates are very important for the economy of Edirne.

Explaining that thousands of people pass through the border gates every month, Irmak said, "I think the Pazarkule Border Gate is very important for Edirne. Daily tourists especially from Greece and Bulgaria use it heavily. It is very important for us that tourists pass quickly and comfortably without waiting. The transitions will now happen quickly, the old bad image will disappear." 

Emphasizing that the enlargement and modernization of the Pazarkule Border Gate will end the queues of vehicles in Kapıkule, especially when expatriates are concentrated, Irmak stated that the Greek side should also enlarge its own customs.
