Samet Akaydın, who was loaned by Fenerbahçe to Panathinaikos at half-time, was sidelined due to his post on 19 May about Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

Panathinaikos FC asked Samet Akaydın, who posted a photo of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on his social media account on 19 May Youth and Sports Day, to remove his post.

DECISION TO RETURN TO TURKEY

After refusing to remove his post, the 30-year-old Turkish national footballer was sidelined by Panathinaikos. Following this development, Samet Akaydın, who reported his situation to Fenerbahçe, decided to return to Türkiye.

Samet Akaydın joined the team on loan at Panathinaikos, who brought Fatih Terim in charge of the team with the championship parole at halftime. 

Panathinaikos parted ways with Fatih Terim at the end of the season when they were far from the championship.
