Woman scams €160,000 in EuroLeague Final Four ticket fraud
A 38-year-old woman was arrested on Thursday, accused of scamming at least 50 victims out of more than €160,000 through a fraudulent EuroLeague Final Four ticket scheme.
According to investigators, the woman had been posing as a travel agent and journalist since at least May 2024, convincing her victims she could arrange trips at significantly lower prices than those available on the market.
She allegedly claimed to have organized numerous press trips for a well-known television network, as well as travel arrangements for prominent journalists.
In recent days, she has been accused of orchestrating a scam involving tickets to Abu Dhabi, where the EuroLeague Basketball Final Four is taking place, featuring Panathinaikos and Olympiakos.
She reportedly assured victims she could secure game tickets and offer budget-friendly travel packages to and from Abu Dhabi.
