Outdoor Sports Conference to be held in Komotini
Komotini Turkish Youth Union and Rhodope Cycling and Outdoor Sports Group will organize an Outdoor Sports Conference in Komotini.
The Outdoor Sports Conference will be held for the first time in the Western Thrace region.
Necdet Turhan will be the speaker of the conference, which will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at 18:00 at the Turkish Youth Union Club in Komotini.
Necdet Turhan is Türkiye's first visually impaired mountaineer and national athlete. He has so far climbed five mountain peaks on five continents. In addition, Turhan, who participated in marathons in many countries, also became the advertising face of Turkish Airlines.
In the conference where he will be a speaker, Visually Impaired Mountaineer and National Athlete Necdet Turhan will share his experiences in outdoor sports with his Western Thrace cognates.
Latif Mehmet, President of the Rhodope Cycling and Outdoor Sports Group (ROBİS), one of the partners organizing the conference, conveyed his opinions about the conference and speaker Necdet Turhan to MİLLET;
"I met Mr. Necdet Turhan in an advertisement for Turkish airlines, and from that moment I started following him on social media. The more I followed, the more I admired him and I wanted to share his experiences with us.
Our first attempt was in 2019, but the pandemic broke out before I could even contact Necdet. Finally in November 9th he will be with us.
What are his experiences? I won't tell you, listen to him on November 9th," he said.
