Greens beat Fiorentina, Reds lose in Norway

Panathinaikos dominated Fiorentina and won 3-2 in its first leg for the Conference League round of 16 on Thursday, while Olympiakos went down 3-0 at Bodo Glimt for the same round of the Europa League.
The Greens will feel they are hard done by the result of the game at the Olympic Stadium of Athens, as after a crazy first 25 minutes with four goals, the second half saw the hosts crash their opponents but score only once.
Panathinaikos led 2-0 in the first 19 minutes with Karol Swiderski and Nemanja Maksimovic, but within four minutes Fiorentina went back on level terms, goals coming from Lucas Beltran and Nicolo Fagioli. Before the end of the first half Fiorentina also had a goal disallowed as offside.
However in the second half the Greeks put on a solid performance and scored a beautiful goal with Tete after a great team effort. They also hit the woodwork with Filip Djuricic and missed several other chances for more goals.
On the contrary, an underperforming Olympiakos suffered a bad loss at the artificial pitch of Bodo Glimt in Norway.
While the Reds appeared particularly threatening in offense, they had major problems at the back, with the hosts translating into goals most of the chances they created.
At first it was Olympiakos keeper Kostantis Tzolakis who scored an own goal, then Kasper Hogh doubled the Norwegians’ lead just before half-time, and the same player completed Bodo Glimt’s win, 10 minutes into the second half.
