OFI stunned the hosts at Nea Filadelfia with an early goal by Eddie Salcedo, but AEK responded in the second half. Robert Ljubicic and Luka Jovic scored to secure the win, despite Jovic missing a penalty and having another effort ruled offside.

Olympiakos failed to capitalize on AEK’s pressure, drawing 1-1 with Kifissia on Saturday. Without top scorer Ayoub El Kaabi, who is away at the Africa Cup of Nations, the Reds took the lead through a Mehdi Taremi penalty, before Pavlos Pantelidis equalized for the visitors.

Elsewhere, PAOK defeated Panathinaikos 2-0 in Thessaloniki, with goals from Giannis Konstantelias and Anestis Mythou. Aris beat Asteras Tripolis 1-0, Volos edged Panetolikos by the same score, and Larissa drew 0-0 with Atromitos. Panserraikos hosts Levadiakos on Monday.

AEK leads the table with 37 points, followed by Olympiakos on 36 and PAOK on 35. The league resumes on January 10 after the Christmas break.

Olympiakos Extends Mendilibar Contract to 2027

Olympiakos FC has announced the extension of head coach Jose Luis Mendilibar’s contract through 2027.

The club said Mendilibar reached an agreement with owner Vangelis Marinakis to continue their cooperation, with the deal finalized on Monday.

Mendilibar joined Olympiakos in February 2024 and led the team to a historic Europa Conference League triumph later that year, the first European title won by a Greek club. Olympiakos went on to claim the domestic double the following season and return to the Champions League.
