Two wins and one draw, and no goals conceded in three games, was the positive outcome of Thursday night in Europe for the Greek teams, as PAOK and Panathinaikos won while Olympakos drew in Bucharest.

In its fifth game for the Europa League league phase, Olympiakos shared a goalless draw with host Steaua in Bucharest.

The Reds were the better team overall, but were unable to translate their numerical advantage from the 67th minute, due to the second yellow card shown to Daniel Birligea, into a goal.

On December 12 Olympiakos will host Twente for its next European game, having collected eight points from five matches.

In Latvia PAOK beat host Rigas FS 2-0 for its first win in the same competition’s league phase.

The Greek champion led from the second minute with Kiril Despodov, and doubled its lead just before the hour mark thanks to Fedor Chalov.

The result has taken PAOK to four points from five games. Up next it will play Ferencvaros in Thessaloniki.

Panathinaikos also scored its first win, but in the Conference League, beating Helsinki 1-0 in Athens.

The Greens were unlucky to miss numerous chances to score, but were lucky to see the deadlock broken through an own goal by Joona Toivio on the 33rd minute.

This means Panathinaikos now has four points from as many games, and on December 12 it will face The New Saints away.
