Rui Vitoria is no longer coach of Panathinaikos, the Athens soccer club said on Monday, a day after their 3-2 loss to Kifissia at the Panthessaliko stadium in Volos, central Greece.

The Portuguese coach, who took over last October, led Panathinaikos to a second-place finish in the Greek Super League and secured Champions League qualification.
This season, Vitoria’s side was eliminated in the Champions League qualifying rounds but earned a Europa League berth.
In the domestic league, however, they recorded just one draw and one loss before his departure.
Panathinaikos thanked Vitoria and his staff and wished them success in the future. No replacement has yet been named.
The club faces Kallithea in the Greek Cup at home on Wednesday.
