Upgrade of Evzoni border station a focus of Greek, Serbian interior ministers' meeting
Interior Minister Thodoris Livanios on Monday welcomed Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dacic, who is on an official visit to Greece.
During their meeting at the interior ministry in Athens they confirmed the excellent level of bilateral Greece-Serbia relations and the joint will to further enhance the cooperation in a series of critical sectors such as border controls.
A particular emphasis was placed on upgrading overland border stations, focusing on a 23.6-million-euro investment project to upgrade the Evzoni border station near Kilkis. The project is already at the tendering stage, and is part of a greater strategic plan to improve infrastructure, facilitating cross-border transport, boosting tourism, and supporting commerce and transport flows in the Balkan region.
The two interior ministers agreed to keep their regular contact and promote common initiatives to furthe strengthen the strategic and multilevel relationship of the two countries.
