The new financial aid for energy saving in houses (Exoikonomo 2025) will have increased budget limit for energy saving interventions, a special provision for those affected by natural disasters, disabled people and families with many children, while it will also be available to long-term tenants.

The subsidy was incorporated into the Recovery Fund and the programme will be announced within the next few days.

More specifically, according to sources, the 2025 programme will also offer economic aid to tenants, provided that the remaining duration of the lease contract is at least 7 years. Market sources told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA) that residential leases with such a long duration are few, if any. However, this programme may serve as an incentive for signing long-term contracts with the addition of energy upgrades.
