Teenager alleges torture and sexual abuse at Malakasa refugee camp

The alleged incident, which took place early on Monday morning, has led to the arrest of four suspects, while two others remain at large.
According to the teenager, six people entered his room, forced him into another accommodation unit within the camp and subjected him to severe abuse. The boy said that his hands were tied, his mouth gagged and he was whipped with cables. One of the attackers reportedly burned him with a hot spoon, and another sexually assaulted him.
The perpetrators held the boy until 8 a.m., accusing him of stealing a mobile phone.
Fearing retaliation, the teenager did not immediately report the incident, as the assailants threatened to kill him if he informed the authorities. During their investigation, the police discovered video footage of the attack, allegedly recorded by one of the suspects.
Four people were arrested, including two minors aged 16 and 17. All are Egyptian nationals. The suspects face several charges, including rape, illegal detention, pornography, unlawful violence and grievous bodily harm.
Police are searching for two other suspects, one of whom is believed to have recorded the incident. Investigations are continuing to identify and arrest the other people involved in the case.
