Saharan dust concentration to reach peak on Tue, start changing Wed

AtmoHub said the transport of dust will be mainly visible in higher atmospheric strata, with smaller concentrations near the ground.

The phenomenon is expected to last until Wednesday (29 July), when atmospheric circulation will gradually change, while the highest concentrations will be noted on Tuesday.

Specifically, higher concentrations of dust are expected in the following regions:

- Central Greece

- Attica

- Peloponnese

- Crete

- Ionian Islands

- Cycladic Islands

- Dodecanese Islands

As AtmoHub notes, dust concentrations are expected to be marginally high (~50 μg/m³) in surface air in the southern Peloponnese, Laconia, Messenia, Achaia and Argos.

Individuals in vulnerable groups are advised to monitor the phenomenon, especially in areas of higher particle concentrations.
