Özgür Ferhat highlights issues caused by wild boars and horses

In his parliamentary question dated September 9, 2024, Ferhat emphasized that the uncontrolled growth of wild boars and wild horses near populated rural areas is becoming a significant problem. He pointed out that these animals are damaging cultivated lands and that wild horses, which cannot be controlled, pose a threat to the safety of local residents. He urged the relevant ministries to take immediate action.
Ferhat noted the increasing complaints from farmers in recent years, highlighting how agricultural products are being destroyed, and that these losses are not being compensated by the Agricultural Compensation Organization (ELGA). He also pointed out that the situation has become dangerous for citizens due to traffic accidents caused by these animals. In light of these issues, he posed the following questions to the ministers:
What measures does the government plan to take to address the damage caused by wild boars and wild horses to agricultural products?
Is ELGA considering insuring the damages caused by wild boars and wild horses in areas outside the RAMSAR (Natura) agreement zones? If not, what plans, projects, and timelines are being developed to tackle this growing problem?
What measures are being considered to protect agricultural products, prevent accidents on roads, and ensure the monitoring and protection of wild horses?
Will the government take necessary steps to prevent wild horses from entering residential areas and crossing highways, thus preventing accidents that could endanger human lives?
How does the government plan to ensure the appropriate living conditions and monitoring of wild horse herds, especially those in the Yassıköy Mountain area that are under protection?
Given that wild horses have been part of the region's history for centuries, is there a plan to create a thematic park to showcase the area's natural and environmental richness, including its wildlife and flora?
