Ministry of health: Flu vaccines now available in pharmacies, high-risk groups urged to get vaccinated

The statement highlighted the potential risk of simultaneous infection with both the flu and Covid-19 viruses this season, emphasizing the importance of vaccination for vulnerable individuals. The recommended period for getting the flu shot is between mid-October and the end of November.
The Ministry reiterated that vaccination is the most effective way to prevent flu-related complications, noting that the majority of past fatalities were among unvaccinated individuals.
The priority groups for vaccination include:
People aged 60 and above
Infants and children aged 6 months to 5 years
Children over 5 and adults with chronic health conditions
Pregnant or breastfeeding women
Children on long-term aspirin therapy
Caregivers of infants under 6 months
Healthcare workers and staff at refugee shelters
Homeless individuals
Veterinarians, poultry and pig farmers, slaughterhouse workers, and those who regularly handle animals.
The Ministry's appeal underlines the critical importance of flu vaccinations to protect the most vulnerable in society.
