Kasselakis proposes nuclear power plant in Thrace

Stefanos Kasselakis, leader of the Democracy Movement, presented his party’s development program, outlining key initiatives for the country’s economic growth.
During a meeting held in Thessaloniki on Thursday, March 27, Kasselakis made striking statements regarding the region of Thrace. He proposed exploring the possibility of establishing a nuclear power plant in Greece, specifically in Thrace, as part of a broader effort to promote sustainable energy production.
The party's program includes plans for restructuring the handicraft industry by establishing modern craft parks with targeted land and rooftop allocations while simplifying licensing procedures. It also advocates for the promotion of cooperative entrepreneurship.
Among Kasselakis' proposals are the operation of modern lignite plants and the investigation of nuclear power development in Thrace, aiming to reduce Greece’s dependence on natural gas and LNG.
