Greece has sent two firefighting planes to southern Albania to help battle a blaze in the region, authorities said on Monday.

Greece has sent two firefighting planes to southern Albania to help battle a blaze in the region, authorities said on Monday.

The PZL aircraft took off from the island of Corfu and headed to Finiq in the coastal region of Vlore.

The deployment followed a request from Albania’s Foreign Ministry to Greece’s Unified Coordination Centre for Operations and Crisis Management at the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.
