During the parliamentary debate, representatives of opposition parties announced that they would not support the reform proposals put forward by the government.

Opposition lawmakers argued that the constitutional revision process should not be rushed and accused the government of using the proposed changes as a political investment ahead of the general elections expected next year.

They further stated that discussing such a significant reform package solely during the summer period would be insufficient. According to opposition representatives, September and October would provide a more suitable timeframe for a comprehensive parliamentary debate on constitutional amendments.

The proposed constitutional reform includes changes across a wide range of areas, including ministerial accountability, the appointment of senior judicial officials, debt restructuring mechanisms, the education system, and electoral procedures.

The package also introduces new provisions addressing emerging challenges such as the climate crisis and artificial intelligence, reflecting the government's intention to modernize the country's constitutional framework.
