Greece will hold its next national elections in 2027 as scheduled, with no plans for an early vote, government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis said Saturday, dismissing speculation about snap elections.

Speaking to Real FM, Marinakis said early elections are being ruled out due to ongoing international instability linked to the war in the Middle East, stressing that “stability is essential both economically and more broadly.”

He said Greece currently benefits from a stable government capable of making swift decisions, pointing to actions such as the deployment of assets in support of Cyprus and targeted economic support measures.

Calling early elections “irresponsible” under current conditions, Marinakis said it would be wrong to capitalize on favorable polling during a period of crisis. “That is not Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and it is not New Democracy,” he said.

“Even if someone wanted to suggest it, [Mitsotakis] dismisses it before the discussion even begins,” Marinakis added.
