In a statement shared by the Greek Thoracic Society, it was warned that desert dust particles in the atmosphere are dangerous for those with respiratory diseases.
In the statement, those with respiratory problems and heart disease were asked not to engage in outdoor activities, to keep windows closed, to use masks in the open air, and those with chronic diseases to be in contact with their doctors. It was reported that many people affected by desert dust applied to hospitals.
Visibility in the city centre and the region decreased due to desert dust.
The Greek Meteorological Office reported that muddy precipitation is also expected in northern and western Greece.
