Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias announced that the government's plans for a new anti-drone system, designed to detect and neutralize Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) when necessary, will be submitted to Parliament in the coming days.
Dendias made this announcement during a visit to the Salamina Port, where he inspected the "Spetsai" frigate, which will participate in the Aspides mission, aimed at safeguarding navigation in the Red Sea.
In his speech, Dendias emphasized the importance of the Aspides mission, stating that the security situation in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Red Sea necessitates its continuation. He also stressed that national defense is not a choice but a requirement for Greece's survival.
Dendias further noted that Greece's defense policies extend beyond the Greek-Turkish dispute, with a focus on the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean. The anti-drone system plan is part of this broader strategy to strengthen national security.
