Burhan BARAN and İlhan AHMET condemned Lagos, who tore the Turkish flag
Turkish MPs in the Greek Parliament Burhan Baran from KINAL in İskeçe (Xanthi) and Ilhan Ahmet in Rodope, condemned Golden Dawn's former MP Ioannis Lagos who tore the Turkish Flag in the European Parliament during his speech.
Xanthi deputy Burhan Baran condemned the disrespect of racist Lagos against the Turkish flag with the following statements:
"Every flag is sacred to the country it represents. I condemn the disrespect of the Golden Dawn party MP Ioannis Lagos as a member of the Greek Parliament during his speech in the European Union Parliament."
Rhodope deputy İlhan Ahmet also condemned the insult of the Greek parliamenter to the Turkish flag in the statement he made on social media with the following words:
"For whatever political reason, it is unacceptable to insult, disrespect, insult national feelings against the flag of a state, which is accepted as a national symbol. I strongly condemn this hateful movement by the Greek parliament in the European Parliament. Democracy, human rights, contemporary universal values and I firmly believe that the Turkish and Greek peoples will respond with common sense and leave such movements and people to the dusty pages of history, against this provocative racist movement that explicitly targets tolerance."
Racist Lagos' insult on the Turkish flag was also condemned in a statement issued by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
