Prosecutor to deliver recommendation in Golden Dawn appeal trial in December
The prosecutor in the Golden Dawn appeal trial is set to deliver her recommendation on December 12, following the conclusion of defendants' statements on Friday.
Former Golden Dawn MP and MEP, Ioannis Lagos, gave the final testimony, labeling the trial as a “political conspiracy.” He stated, “I know that I will not find justice here, but I intend to take the case to the European courts.”
Meanwhile, Giorgos Roupakias, convicted of the murder of Pavlos Fyssas, did not testify in person. However, his lawyer submitted a written statement expressing remorse: “I want to humbly ask for forgiveness for the unspeakable pain I have caused,” the statement read.
The trial, which has garnered significant public attention, is now in its final stages as the court prepares for the prosecutor’s recommendation next month.
