Greece and Kosovo explore new trade opportunities in key sectors

The significant prospects for the development of economic relations between Greece and Kosovo, with an emphasis on the sectors of construction, agri-food, renewable energy sources and tourism, were highlighted by the Secretary General of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Panagiotis Menexopoulos, welcoming a Kosovar business mission to the institution's premises.
The visit, led by the President of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce, Lulzim Rafuna, aimed to hold business meetings (B2B) with Greek businesses, and took place in the context of activating the memorandum of cooperation, which had been signed between the two chambers in Pristina, in September 2024, during a corresponding Greek business mission to Kosovo.
Rafouna stated that imports from Greece account for 5% of Kosovo's total imports, which demonstrates - as he said - the dynamics of trade cooperation between the two sides.
At the same time, he pointed out the need to strengthen joint investments, through the transfer of know-how and the pooling of resources.
Particular emphasis was placed by the Kosovar side on the organization of the twenty-first Mediterranean Games in Pristina in 2030, which can be an opportunity for investment activity by Greek businesses, mainly in the construction and tourism sectors.
It was also emphasized that the Greek experience in implementing large-scale projects can be effectively utilized in the development of the necessary infrastructure, while contributing to the strengthening of cross-border business cooperation.
