Kardzhali folklore team celebrated its 30th anniversary
The Kardzhali Turkish folk dance team, one of the most rooted teams in the country, keeping the culture of Turks in Bulgaria alive, celebrated its 30th anniversary with a concert held under the auspices of Kardzhali Municipality.
Established in 1992 under the umbrella of the Ömer Lütfi Cultural Association operating in the city, the team staged examples of Turkish folk dances and contemporary music on its 30th anniversary with the participation of 80 children and young people from different age groups.
Mayor Hasan Aziz presented the "Golden Arma Award" to the Turkish folk dance team on behalf of the Municipality of Kardzhali for its mission of keeping the Turkish culture alive and preserving it.

In his speech after the concert, Mayor Aziz stated that he saw 4-5 generations of young and adult artists on stage and in the hall, "This is no longer an amateur team, but an institution." used the phrase.
Turcologist Harun Bekir, working at Plovdiv University, said: "I would like to state that such events are very important for the development of Turkish culture in Bulgaria. It is the primary duty of such associations to keep the Turkish culture, the traditions and customs of the Turks in Bulgaria alive and to pass it on from generation to generation." said.
The Kardzhali Turkish folk dance team was founded on October 1, 1992.
The team, which participated in various activities in Bulgaria and performed in the regions where Turks and Muslims live intensely, received awards in many local and international festivals.
The team includes students from 10 schools from Kardzhali and its region.
