21 December Turkish Education Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in the city of Konçe, North Macedonia.

The event held at the Culture House under the auspices of Konçe Mayor and the Municipal Council was attended by Minister of Culture Bisera Kostadinovska-Stoychevska, Minister of Labor and Social Policies Yovana Trenchevska, former Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Mustafa Şentop, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Policies Enver Hüseyin, Former President of the Constitutional Court Salih Murat and many guests from the Republic of Türkiye.

Speaking at the event the Minister of Culture Kostadinovska-Stoychevska celebrated this important day for the Turkish community and pointed out that the Ministry of Culture will continue to support projects that contribute to the development of Turkish culture.

Noting that one of the commitments of the government and the Ministry of Culture is to nurture and develop the traditions and culture of all people living in our country, including the Turkish society, Stoychevska said, “To build an equal democratic society for everyone. As politicians, as institutions, as a system, as citizens of this country, we protect the language and provide conditions for the preservation of the national and cultural identity of all communities." she said.

Regarding North Macedonia, Stoychevska said, "It has always been an area where different languages ​​and cultures develop with the spirit of understanding and tolerance," adding that the Turkish language is a part of our multi-ethnic and democratic richness.

Reminding that the elders knew with their wisdom that respecting and learning the language of others is not an insurmountable obstacle but a value, Stoychevska said, "It was given and received as a sign of the friendship and respect of our people for the deep-rooted tradition of the Turkish language, which has a great impact on the speech of the entire Balkans." she said.

The Minister of Culture stated that the activities of the Turkish community in the country make a significant contribution to the development and promotion of education and science.
