Turkish Trade Minister visited Sofia Kadi Seyfullah Efendi Central Mosque

Turkish Trade Minister Mehmet Muş visited Sofia Kadi Seyfullah Efendi Central Mosque and met with the representatives of the Grand Mufti. The meeting took place as part of the official Bulgarian contacts of the Minister of Trade.

The Minister of Muş and Turkey's Ambassador to Sofia Aylin Sekizkök and the accompanying delegation visited Sofia Central Mosque on Friday, March 25.

During the meeting, Bulgarian Deputy Chief Mufti Beyhan Mehmed, Chief Mufti General Secretary Celal Faik and Sofia Regional Mufti Beyhan Mehmed informed the delegation about the history of Kadı Seyfullah Efendi Mosque and Bulgarian Muslims in general.

It was emphasized that the mosque in the center of the capital Sofia was restored in 2018 and is protected by the Muslims living there.

The Turkish Minister of Commerce, on the other hand, stated that the Office of the Chief Mufti was impressed by the efforts to preserve historical buildings related to the Turkish and Muslim community, and underlined that this people is a bridge between Bulgaria and Turkey.

Representatives of the Bulgarian Religious of Muslims Committee emphasized that they maintain good relations with the Turkish Embassy in Sofia and that the two institutions cooperate in a number of projects.

It was stated that the Embassy and the Bulgarian Religion of Muslims Committee have joint activities in Sofia, such as offering hot soup in front of the mosque after Friday prayers, Ramadan-oriented iftar organizations, and distribution of parcels containing basic foods to the needy.
