It was reported that the use of Turkish in workplaces was banned by the Department of Control of Public Spaces in Ardabil, South Azerbaijan, Iran.

According to the Crimean News Agency, activists noted that the Department of Control of Public Spaces sent an order to ban the use of Turkish in the city.

It was reported that the licences of businesses, restaurants, shops and facilities that do not comply with the ban will be cancelled and shops will be closed.

Previously, Tehran Police Organisation had made a similar warning and drew attention to the use of Persian names and stated that Turkish names were banned.

Due to the oppressive policy of the Iranian administration, the Turks of Guzey Azerbaijan in Iran cannot use Turkish names on the streets and streets and are deprived of their traditional clothes.
