Greeks and the French the most pessimistic for the EU's future
It turned out that most of the people living in the European Union (EU) countries are optimistic about the future of the Union, while the people of Greece and France are the most pessimistic.
In the "Eurobarometer" survey conducted in the 27 members of the EU, people living in the member states of the Union were asked how optimistic they were for the future of the EU.
63 percent of the members of the union stated that they are optimistic and 34 percent are pessimistic.
The countries with the most optimism were Ireland (89%), Denmark (78%), Malta (74%) and Poland (73%).
The most pessimistic people were Greeks (53%), French (48%), Czech (47%), Slovaks (46%), and Lithuanians (43%).
In general, it was noted that there were many optimists among young people. 74 percent of the respondents aged 15-24 and 59 percent of those over 55 said they were optimistic.
