Zeybek: "2.5 million taxpayers in the country are below the poverty line"

Xanthi MP Hüseyin Zeybek said: "2.5 million taxpayers in Greece are below the poverty line. In terms of purchasing power, Greece ranks last among the European Union (EU) countries".

Zeybek criticised the government's economic policies at a parliamentary hearing on the Ministry of Development's "Supporting Businesses and Consumers Affected by Adverse Climate Conditions against Rising Inflation".

Stating that 2.5 million taxpayers are below the poverty line, Zeybek emphasised that Greece ranks last among EU countries in terms of purchasing power.

Zeybek stated that the government did not implement the right policies against inflation and underlined that high inflation consumes the income of citizens.

Zeybek held the government responsible for the unemployment in Western Thrace and stated that the government should take the necessary measures as soon as possible.
