"You are trying to destroy the Minority with your indifference to Minority education"

Taking the floor in the parliament regarding the new draft law allowing the establishment of private universities, MP Ferhat expressed the problems experienced in Minority education and reacted to the government's practices with Minority education.

In his speech, Ferhat stated the following:

"If we are talking about the state education system, I would like to touch upon the ongoing problems of Minority education.

"MINORITY EDUCATION HAS BEEN COMPLETELY DEVALUED AND ABANDONED"

Dear leaders of the New Democracy Party, as you all know, Minority education and Minority primary schools have been completely devalued and abandoned. Despite the promises you made during the previous and the current term of government, you have not made any contribution to improve the conditions of Minority education. Our schools are deprived of basic technological equipment, insufficient number of teachers, inability of our teachers to provide bilingual education within the framework of the Parallel Support Programme (PE73 - Turkish), lack of integrated classrooms, terrible and poor school buildings and even containers!

"YOU ARE TRYING TO DESTROY THE MINORITY"

You are trying to destroy the Minority with your indifferent attitude towards Minority education. Dozens of schools have been closed or merged because of your wrong policy choices. In total, out of 300 primary schools in Thrace, there are not even 100 schools left. Despite the European profile you are trying to create, you have abolished the bilingual pilot application in Kindergartens. Which rights and equality do you represent?

You are projecting the opposite image. As a result of your harsh anti-people and neo-liberal propaganda you are directly attacking the state education system in our country!"
