Western Thrace Turkish women gather for “Women’s Night” event
The gathering brought together women from various parts of Western Thrace with the aim of fostering social solidarity, connection, and shared experience within the community. The event highlighted the importance of unity and mutual support among women in a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
Music, Culture, and Community
Following opening remarks, members of the Orjinal Ton music group took the stage, offering live performances that set the tone for the evening. The program continued with a DJ set featuring popular music from the 1980s and 1990s, creating a lively and nostalgic ambiance for attendees.
Among those present were İlayda Ünal, wife of Türkiye’s Consul General in Gümülcine Aykut Ünal; Nadire Trampa, wife of the President of the Advisory Board and Mufti of İskeçe; and Çiğdem Asafoğlu, President of the Friendship, Equality, Peace Party (FEP), alongside many women from the local community.
Strengthening Social Bonds
Organizers emphasized that the event was designed to strengthen solidarity and social ties among women in Western Thrace. Participants expressed satisfaction with the initiative, describing the evening as both enjoyable and meaningful.
