Western Thrace Student Union pay visit to bookbinder Muharrem Kalenci
In the exhibition held in Üsküdar Özbekler Tekke, 33 works from Tivnikli Hacı Faruk Efendi collection of 300 works took place. Most of the works were printed in Ottoman Turkish and the other part of the works were printed with the Latin letters of the Republican period and the exhibition was visited by his fellow citizens from Western Thrace.
Within the scope of the exhibition, Mujellit Muharrem Kalenci explained the restoration process of the works and the importance of this art to the students. In addition, traditional "Uzbek pilaf" special to Uzbek region was served.
Western Thrace Students' Union Istanbul team expressed their satisfaction with their visit and said: "We were very happy to visit this important exhibition of Muharrem Kalenci. His knowledge and experience in this field was very valuable for us. We would also like to thank the administrators of Uzbek Tekke and ISAR for hosting us."
