Hatim enthusiasm experienced in Kır Vakıf village
On Sunday, 28 April, a hatim ceremony was organised in the garden of Kır Vakıf Minority Primary School under the leadership of the students of the Kır Vakıf Qur'an Course, which operates under the Mufti's Office of Komotini.
Both students from Kır Vakıflı and students from Çay Vakıflı are studying in the Qur'an course taught by the religious officer Ahmet Veli. On the occasion of some of the students completing the Qur'an, a hatim ceremony was organised under the leadership of their families and all 23 students attending the course participated in the hatim ceremony.
The programme was held under the guidance of the religious teacher Orhan Bülbül. The students, who took the stage at the ceremony, recited prayers, poems, hymns, religious skits in groups and individually in accordance with the programme prepared by their teachers.
The performances of the children on the stage and their recitations were highly appreciated by the parents, the people of the village and the guests from the neighbouring villages. The children concluded the ceremony programme with a prayer.
Ahmet Veli, the teacher of Kır Vakıf Qur'an Course, who took the stage after the successful programme by the children, thanked the students, their families, the villagers, those who provided material and moral support for the ceremony, those who participated in the ceremony and the administrators who were instrumental in the organisation of the magnificent ceremony and the participation of hundreds of cognates.
Then İbrahim Şerif, President of the Consultative Committee of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and also Mufti of Komotini, took the floor and greeted the participants.
In the first part of his speech, he touched upon the work carried out in the courses operating within the muftiate for learning the Holy Quran and religious knowledge, and the hatim ceremonies organised under the leadership of students and parents as a result of the training received. Mufti concluded his speech by stating that the mevlit ceremony was excellent and congratulated the successful students, their families and teachers who raised them and those who contributed.
After his speech, Mufti İbrahim Şerif presented certificates of achievement to the students who succeeded in completing the Holy Quran. Hatim ceremony programme ended with a collective souvenir photo taken.
After the call to prayer, the cognates participating in the ceremony performed the noon prayer together. Food and ayran were served to all guests attending the ceremony.
The teachers and students of Kır Vakıf Qur'an Course have again organised a magnificent hatim ceremony this year, as they did in 2013, and received the appreciation of everyone.
Among those who attended the Hatim ceremony and did not leave the students and their parents on a meaningful day were İbrahim Şerif, President of the Advisory Board of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and Mufti of Komotini, Fehim Ahmet, Deputy Mufti, Çiğdem Asafoğlu, President of the Friendship Equality Peace Party, party executives, FEP Party candidates for the European Parliament, Rıdvan Hacı Mehmet, Vice President of the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Province, State President Counsellor Rıdvan Molla İsa, State Assembly Member Ahmet Osman Pehlivan, President of the Religious Officers of Western Thrace Mosques Erol Yaluc, Vice President Enes Keke Hasan, Secretary General Burak Adil representing the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association, Maronya-Shapçı Municipal Councillor Mustafa Karagöz, Yassıköy Deputy Mayor Mehmet Arif and hundreds of cognates attended.
