Upgrading of the existing and restoration of the old courthouse in Komotini
A working meeting with the Minister of Justice, George Floridis, was held by the Member of Parliament for Rodopi of New Democracy, Euripides Stylianidis, and the President of the Bar Association of Rodopi, Dimitrios Ereliadis.
The object of the contact was the acceleration of the project of energy upgrading and the radical renovation of the Courthouse of Komotini, as well as the promotion of the restoration of the historical building of the old Courthouse, which is an emblematic landmark of the region having housed the first Administration of Independent Thrace under General Sarpy.
By order of the Minister, the procedures for approving the decisions for the upgrade of the existing Courthouse are accelerated, while he, who was also one of the first students of the Komotini School of Law of the DTH, committed himself to promoting the restoration of the old Courthouse; decision after all, the Ministry itself is to undertake the financing.
Messrs. Stylianidis and Ereliadis thanked the Minister for his interest and immediate mobilization, and stated that they will closely monitor the progress of the projects, in order, as they pointed out, "to finally have a positive result with the cooperation of the Ministry".
