Twelve arrests for Traffic Code Violations in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace

Twelve individuals were arrested between April 30 and May 2, 2025, by police officers of the General Regional Police Directorate of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace in the areas of Kavala and Evros for violations of the Greek Highway Code.

As part of targeted checks aimed at addressing dangerous driving behavior, the following arrests were made:

Four Greek nationals and two foreign nationals in the regions of Kavala and Thassos were arrested by officers of the Kavala Migration Enforcement Department and the Police Departments of Nestos and Thassos. Four were caught operating three passenger cars and one motorcycle without a valid driver's license, while the other two were found driving pickup trucks under the influence of alcohol.

One Greek and one foreign national were arrested in Samothraki and Tycheros (Evros) respectively. According to reports from the Samothraki Police Department and Alexandroupoli Police Directorate, the Greek national was driving a pickup truck while intoxicated, and the foreign national was operating a passenger vehicle without a license.

Three Greek nationals and one foreign national were apprehended in the Orestiada region. Police officers from the Orestiada Traffic Department, the Trigono Police Department, and the Border Security Department of Didymoteicho reported that the individuals were driving three motorcycles and one passenger car without a valid driver’s license.

Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of road safety and responsible driving, especially in regions with high traffic and cross-border activity.
