Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues a commemoration message for Dr Sadık Ahmet

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a commemorative message on the 28th anniversary of the death of Dr Sadık Ahmet, the founder of the Friendship, Equality and Peace (FEP) Party and the leader of the struggle of Western Thrace Turks for their rights.

The Ministry commemorated Dr Sadık Ahmet with gratitude, respect and prayers and stated that their support to the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace will continue.

Dr Sadık Ahmet was killed in a suspicious traffic accident in 1995 while fighting for the democratic rights of the Western Thracian Muslim Turkish Minority in Greece.

In the message shared on the Twitter account of the Ministry, it was stated that "We commemorate Dr Sadık Ahmet, the founder of the Friendship Equality Peace Party and the unforgettable leader of the Western Thrace Turks, with gratitude, respect and prayers on the 28th anniversary of his death."
