Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs celebrates 98th anniversary of the Iskece Turkish Union
The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs celebrated the 98th anniversary of the Iskece Turkish Union (İTB), a key civil society organization for the Turkish minority in Western Thrace. A message posted on the Ministry's official social media account marked the milestone, emphasizing the importance of İTB as the longest-established civil society group representing the Western Thrace Turkish community.
The Ministry’s statement expressed: "Happy 98th anniversary to the Iskece Turkish Union, the oldest civil society organization of the Western Thrace Turkish minority!" It further highlighted support for the union’s rightful efforts to use its own name in line with the European Court of Human Rights' rulings, stressing the importance of supporting its honorable struggle.
