Turkish Deputy Minister of National Education Yılmaz, YTB President Eren visit Western Thrace
Turkish Deputy Minister of National Education Nazif Yılmaz and President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) Abdullah Eren have begun their official visit to Western Thrace, starting in Xanthi. The distinguished guests from Türkiye are accompanied by Türkiye’s Consul General in Komotini, Aykut Ünal.
On the first day of the visit, Deputy Minister Yılmaz visited Xanthi Minority Middle and High School. He was welcomed by the school’s Board of Trustees President Ozan Ahmetoğlu, its members, and the Parent-Teacher Association representatives.
However, due to a decision by the school administration, members of the Board of Trustees and the Parent-Teacher Association were not allowed to enter the school. As a result, the planned gift presentation ceremony was held outside the school premises.
The visit will continue with stops at the Xanthi Mufti’s Office and the Xanthi Turkish Union. In the evening, the delegation is set to attend an iftar program in Xanthi.
