Turkish Consul General Ünal visits Xanthi Minority Middle and High School

As part of a program to visit minority schools in the region, Turkey’s Consul General in Komotini, Aykut Ünal, paid an official visit to Xanthi Minority Middle and High School this morning (Tuesday, January 21, 2025).
During the visit, Consul General Ünal met with school officials and conveyed his best wishes for success. He was accompanied by his wife, Ilayda Ünal.
In a social media post from the Turkish Consulate General in Komotini, it was stated, “We visited Xanthi Minority Middle and High School. We wish the administration, teachers, students, parents, Committee of Trustees, and Parent-Teacher Association success in the new semester.”
The Xanthi Minority Middle and High School is the only bilingual minority school in Xanthi, providing education in both Turkish and Greek. The school, with approximately 500 students, operates in a 200-year-old former tobacco warehouse, a building that has long suffered from unresolved infrastructure issues.
