Thessaly and Evros businesses receive over 12.8 million euros in disaster relief payments

The financial support, processed through the AADE platform "myBusinessSupport," was directed toward businesses in Thessaly affected by September's severe floods and in the Evros region, where wildfires in August 2023 caused significant economic losses as a secondary effect.

Funding was provided by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection in collaboration with the Ministry of National Economy and Finance and the Independent Authority for

Public Revenue (AADE). According to the Ministry, 12,887,368.05 euros were distributed to 1,313 businesses, with 12,835,679.26 euros allocated to 1,297 businesses in Thessaly and 56,364.04 euros to 17 businesses in Evros.

"This is another measure within the framework of state aid, supporting Thessaly’s businesses to mitigate their losses and recover. We will continue working closely with all stakeholders to implement further measures," stated Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Christos Triantopoulos.

The financial aid in Evros focused on businesses in the tourism sector in the municipalities of Soufli and Feres in Alexandroupolis, which were heavily impacted by the summer 2023 wildfires.
