Teacher Emine Tahsin's book 'Here is My Life' presented
On Friday 25 October, the “book launch” was held at a hotel in Komotini with the participation of the family of teacher Emine Tahsin, book lovers and compatriots.
İbrahim Şerif, President of the Advisory Board of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and Mufti of Komotini, Aydın Ahmet, President of the Western Thrace Turkish Teachers' Union, Duygu Mustafa, President of the Women's Section of the FEP Party, Hüseyin Bostancı, President of BAKEŞ, Pervin Hayrullah, Director General of BAKEŞ, Sibel Mustafaoğlu, President of the Centre for Taking Measures against Addiction (ORFEAS), Sedat Hasan, President of the Komotini Turkish Youth Union, Murat Ahmet representing the Western Thrace Minority Graduates Association, former MP Galip Galip attended the book launch.
Hüseyin Bostancı, President of BAKEŞ made the opening speech of the event. Stating that Emine Tahsin, the author of the book, is a pioneer woman in many issues in Western Thrace, President Bostancı said: "I wish that this book, which contains her exemplary life, will be beneficial to our society."
Journalist İbrahim Baltalı, who took part as a speaker at the book launch event, said: "Mrs Emine is a modern Turkish woman with a very strong social side as well as a teacher. She was so strong that she even showed the courage to enter politics. In this book, Mrs Emine tells us about her strongest sides. It consists of 144 pages and is a book worth reading. Emine made a classic introduction to the book by talking about her family life. Then her education years and teaching life are described. Since the book has more visual content, it provides easier reading. When the book is read, it draws attention that Mrs Emine is a woman of firsts."
After that the author of the book, teacher Emine Tahsin took the floor. Firstly, teacher Tahsin thanked all the guests who attended the book launch event and gave information about the content of the book. Tahsin, who conveyed some episodes from her life throughout her life, stated that she was the first Turkish Minority woman actress in a film about the Minority and that she was also the first woman in the field of theatre. Tahsin noted that the book has more visual content and expressed that readers can read the book more easily in this sense.
Finally, teacher Emine Tahsin thanked the individuals and institutions that contributed to the preparation of the book.
