SYRIZA Evros on Oikonomou's visit: "Our region is not a decor!"

The SYRIZA Evros Local Committee strongly criticizes the visit of the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Vassilis Oikonomou, to Evros, calling it yet another "show" without addressing the region's actual problems. The statement emphasizes that Evros was used for communication purposes, while the real issues affecting the people were ignored.
Key points of criticism:
Railway Isolation: Thrace remains disconnected by rail from the rest of Greece, with the government focusing on geopolitical priorities rather than the region's needs.
Agricultural Issues: Farmers in Evros face rising production costs and lack of infrastructure. The unresolved issue of the agreement with Bulgaria regarding the management of the Arda river continues to create uncertainty for agricultural production.
Transport Equalization and Samothrace Ferry Connection: No progress on the transport equalization issue, and the ferry connection remains insufficient.
Communication Shows Instead of Solutions: The tour was limited to meetings with local politicians, excluding citizens struggling with the real problems of the region.
SYRIZA reaffirms its commitment to support the citizens of Evros and promote targeted policies to address the region's real needs.
