The swimming ban on the beaches of Alexandroupoli has been lifted by the Deputy Regional Governor for the Evros Prefecture of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (EMT), Vangelis Pulilios.

Deputy Governor Pulilios explained the decision, stating that the initial ban was imposed after water samples revealed pollution. However, recent tests have confirmed that the waters are now suitable for swimming.
It is worth noting that due to sudden changes in weather conditions, regional authorities imposed the swimming ban on several beaches in Alexandroupoli on Thursday, July 25, following inspections.
The local community had reacted strongly to the initial ban.
