Successful fundraiser held by Final Year Students of Xanthi Minority Middle and High School
The event was held at the sports complex in the Aşağımahalle district of Xanthi and attracted a large crowd, with many attendees coming to support the students.
Notable participants included Turkey’s Consul General in Komotini, Aykut Ünal, and his wife Ilayda Ünal, Xanthi Mufti Mustafa Trampa, Xanthi MPs Hüseyin Zeybek and Burhan Baran, Mustafçova Mayor Ahmet Kurt, Vice Presidents of the DEB Party Metin Hacıosman and Bahri Belço, and Ozan Ahmetoğlu, President of the Xanthi Turkish Union and Chairman of the school’s Executive Committee. Other attendees included representatives from local cultural organizations, teachers, and members of the Western Thrace Turkish community.
The opening ceremony featured a mini concert by Özcan Kalfa and his music group, followed by speeches from student representative Ahsen Efendi, School Parents' Association Vice President Selma Veli, and Executive Committee President Ozan Ahmetoğlu. The speeches highlighted the ongoing issue of the school's building facilities.
It was announced that similar fundraisers will be held in the coming weeks in the villages of Şahin, Ketenlik, and the Ova region.
