Sedat Karadayı, one of the senior preachers of Western Thrace, who is well known with his knowledge, has published a written statement regarding the process that started with the mufti elections in Western Thrace.

In his statement, Karadayı stated that he was not responsible for the negative developments that came or will arise during this process, and said, "I proudly declare with my existing faith that I have not had an iota of doubt about my belief and what I have done in national and religious matters, and that I will continue with the same feelings and thoughts from now on." made statements.

Pointing out that he has been diligently trying to serve the Turks of Western Thrace in the national and religious field for years, Karadayı said, "I pray that the mufti elections will take place in real unity, togetherness and calmness as envisaged. I have full faith and confidence that our community is sensitive to this issue." He concluded his statement with his best wishes.

My dear compatriots!

“I would like to declare the following regarding the mufti elections, which have been on the agenda in the last days.

Thank God, for 40 years, I have tried to serve meticulously, both by preaching and guidance in mosques, as a teacher of the Qur'an Course, and by being at the forefront in all cases of the religious and national values ​​of the Western Thrace Muslim Turkish Community.

I have tried to fulfill this service with the understanding of "service to the public, service to the God". As a result of this, I believe that I have gained the appreciation and love of the congregation (alhamdu-lillah).

With the encouragement and support of our community, I announced my candidacy for the office of mufti, which was vacated after the death of the Mufti of Xanthi Ahmet Mete.

Many of our brothers, who heard this news spread over social media, expressed their satisfaction, congratulations and prayers both in comments and by calling me personally. I would like to express my special thanks to everyone.

Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board on 29 August 2022; “As a result of the work carried out with the coordination of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board and the Xanthi Mufti office, candidates for Mufti of Xanthi have been determined.

In this process, meetings and consultations with religious officials from Xanthi, minority representatives, minority leaders and some people from the public were taken into account. The sensitivity, expectations and needs of our society were fully taken into account.” made the statement.

In the same statement, the advisory committee also announced the election date as (9th September) with two mufti candidates.

As a result, I am saying that I am free from any negative development that has or will occur during this process.

I proudly confess with my existing faith that I have never had an iota of doubt about my ablution in national and religious matters, and that I will never hear from now on.
