Second Chance School to open in Hemetli Region
According to Mayor Erdem Hüseyin, the municipal council’s decision will be formally submitted to the Ministry of Education, with expectations of a positive response to the long-standing demand from the local community.
Following the earlier establishment of a similar school in the village of Sirkeli, the planned "Second Chance Secondary School" in Hemetli has already attracted 79 applications. The number is expected to rise before the new academic year begins.
The new institution is set to operate within the premises of the Hemetli Middle and High School, a decision that was reached through mutual agreement, the municipality announced.
“We have been working to keep the promises we made before the election. This step in the field of education will make a meaningful contribution to our region,” said Mayor Hüseyin in his statement.
He concluded by expressing hope that the new school would benefit the local population and foster further development in the region.
