Reconstruction project of the provincial road between Iasmos and Koptero begins

The reconstruction of the provincial road between Iasmos and Koptero has officially begun, with a complete closure of the road for 14 months, as per the traffic regulations approved by the Regional Council of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace on Wednesday, January 22. During this period, traffic will be diverted through the village of Dialampis.
The construction work focuses on the section from Koptero to Iasmos (from km 6+500 to km 11+000), covering a length of 4.5 kilometers. The standard cross-section for the entire road will feature a road width of 4.50 meters, with two lanes and a shoulder of 1.50 meters on each side (with a continuous traffic surface). The road widening will improve the traffic conditions in the area, increasing both traffic capacity and road safety.
Additionally, the project includes technical works aimed at restoring the flow of existing small streams and providing flood protection for the road. Along the examined section, the construction of 23 small technical structures has been planned (2 of which were previously built), along with work to clear the debris and clean the bed of all cross-drainages between the provincial road and the railway line in the area.
According to the Traffic Regulations and Temporary Signage Study, the provincial road will be fully closed from Koptero to Iasmos throughout the day, from the entrance of Koptero from Amaksades to the entrance of Iasmos from Koptero, near the intersection with the D.E.H. substation. Traffic will be directed through the village of Dialampis, and local movements to and from agricultural properties adjacent to the construction site will be managed on-site according to the stages of the project.
The traffic regulations will be in effect for 14 months, with the exact start and end dates determined by the overall progress of the works.
