Quality improvement in healthcare services targeted in the EMT Region
EMT Regional Governor Topsidis meets with 4th Regional Health Director Panagiotis Boyatzidis to discuss updates in healthcare infrastructure and equipment.
As part of the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace 2021-2027 Program, a €20 million funding call is expected to be announced soon. On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Regional Governor Christodoulos Topsidis met with 4th Regional Health Director Panagiotis Boyatzidis in Komotini to discuss the strengthening of healthcare infrastructure and modernization of medical equipment.
Topsidis emphasized that the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF - ΕΣΠΑ) funds should be used efficiently, based on comprehensive consultations with hospitals and healthcare centers to assess real needs and prepare strategic plans.
Scope of the Upcoming Funding Call:
- Modernization, expansion, and improvement of healthcare infrastructure
- Procurement of biomedical technology and other necessary equipment
- Provision of equipment for mobile healthcare units
During the meeting, Topsidis and the Regional Health Directorate reaffirmed their strong cooperation, recognizing its crucial role in securing resources and funding for healthcare projects in the region.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Topsidis stated:
"This meeting marks a significant step toward enhancing healthcare services in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, ensuring better medical care for our citizens."
